With this Qol Group Corporate Philosophy in mind, we aim to faithfully face various stakeholders including patients, employees, local communities, shareholders and business partners, aiming for reliable management, and contributing to the development and improvement of a sustainable society.
With the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, the views of environmental protection and economic growth have changed significantly throughout the world. Companies are now required to actively promote initiatives that can contribute to the development and improvement of a sustainable society.

No.3 Support seamless medical care through stable supply of high-quality healthcare services.

Activity example: “Dementia Cafe”

The Qol Group is working to train dementia supporters. With correct understanding of dementia, pharmacists and other staff at Qol Pharmacies play a role of supporters who warmly watch over people with dementia and their families, participating in the creation of communities where people can live with at ease. Qol pharmacies in different areas host cafe events, which can be casually used by local residents including those with dementia, their families, and people having concern on dementia, as well as medical professionals. We believe communication at the cafe can help prevent the disease and alleviate the development of conditions.

No.4 Fostering correct cultural education related to medicine and drugs

Activity example: Project to prevent accidental ingestion by children

Cases where children accidentally ingest such substances as pharmaceuticals, cigarettes, or detergents are increasing. We keep an eye on and raise public awareness about the current situation of accidental ingestion by children, and promote Qol Pharmacies’ activities aimed at preventing accidental ingestion among children.

Activity example: Workplace reform to allow women to play active roles (L.A.D.Y.S. Conference)

The Qol Group, where many female employees work, has launched the L.A.D.Y.S.*Conference, a study group for women’s empowerment and advancement in the workplace from a woman’s perspective. In addition to the government-supported reform for active use of female employees by companies and development of better working environment, the conference works to facilitate the work of pharmacists and other staff at Qol’s “family pharmacies.” We aim for unlimited growth and development of the Company by uncovering the potential power of women and casting the Qol Group’s slogan “Always there to care” into shape.

No.8 Develop wider sympathy for the Corporate Philosophy and create a corporate environment where each employee can demonstrate maximum performance

Activity example: Promotion of employment of people with disabilities

We started up Qol Assist Co., Ltd. in 2009 to promote and further advance employment of people with disabilities by the Qol Group. Qol Assist Co., Ltd., certified as a special subsidiary company to become the first such company in the insurance pharmacy industry, proactively employs people with disabilities, mainly those with severe physical disabilities, as work-from-home employees.

No.9 Create new medical values

Activity example: Service of handling prescriptions sent in beforehand “Qol Okusuribin”

To further enhance convenience for patients, Qol Pharmacies started offering a service called Qol Okusuribin whereby prescriptions sent in beforehand are handled. A patient can start using the service simply by adding the Qol’s LINE official account as a friend. A patient can reduce the waiting time only by taking a photo of the prescription with a smartphone and sending in it to the pharmacy of choice.

No.11 Improve the quality of medical care and contribute to health maintenance of local residents by cooperating with local communities, etc.

Activity example: Nursing care/home healthcare support

In order to fulfill our social responsibilities in medical and health care and to support an environment where people can enjoy their preferred lifestyle, the Qol Group makes maximum use of the advantages of being able to serve for same patients with medical institutions in a one-on-one relationship. As family pharmacists close to people in the community, our staff accompany doctors and provide medication guidance on home visits.
